Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and sinister influences expanding in strength within the city.
Note: Key plot points for the third episode of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
Episode 3 ended with a huge suspense moment and introduced the initial group of heroes who will separate from the main group to begin their independent quest, separate from the additional parties.
This warrior group consists of Teor (played by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
Hence, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Prelude, intertwining the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Planners, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a classically intense battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 show why these five characters are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the party understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the rogue, and swiping all the powerful objects to sell off.
The antagonist then paid off his obligations and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- Kattigan is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a hostile environment.
- The warrior and Wicander, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their position as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the group enter areas they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character pledged a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now go with him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the setting for a range of causes, making staying in the city too risky:
- The rogue and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The healer turned against the powerful family and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the family.
This leaves them no alternative but to head to the remote area in quest for the traitor.

According to the latest episode’s Cooldown, we find out that the Soldiers table will not appear next week, leaving the rest of the players to assemble the Questers and Planners groups.
